Geometry Dash: Nexitron - Update 1.3.0 Changelog & Patch Notes

Hey everyone! Didn't think I'd say this for a long while buttt.... UPDATE DAY HAS ARRIVED!! Unfortunately it isn't THE update day, but an update nonetheless! Update 1.3 has officially launched on Gamejolt and Itch.io! I discovered that I had wanted more plugins for more features that I would love to add to the game. (You guys can thank Hytale for this update, more on that later.) If you are familiar with Flip Out Rush's Update system, then you'll know about the occasional "Gift Patch" Updates. This is what that is! As a way to apologize for another big patch, we're giving you guys a gift! (Hence the name, lol.) A TON of stuff has been added in 1.3! (Cause this is an lesser early version of Update 2.0!) This whole gift patch was done to add the final plugins into the game, as adding new plugins crashes old save files. SOOOO, with this update, you'll be able to transfer your chapter 1 save file to Chapter 2/Update 2.0! Had we released these new plugins with 2.0, you wouldn't be able to transfer over your save file. And I do not want that! So we're giving you a gift patch! We've got a long list of stuff to discuss for what's been added, so let's not waste anymore time!

  • [New] Brand new visual overhaul has been done to the World Map! Enjoy a brand new design inspired by "The Map," planned to be added into Geometry Dash Update 2.21!

  • [New] [Gift] Platformer levels have arrived! Find a NPC in "The Dashlands" to unlock the new platformer and earn extra rewards!

    • Added New Platformer: The Deep Forest!

      • Available now exclusively in the game. Public release drops March 1st!

    • Platformer levels are completely optional, and are not required to beat to progress in the story. Expect more Platformers to come to the game in Chapter Two/Update 2.0!

  • [New] New Feature: The Logbook! Document all the Monsters, Characters, Items and Armor you collect and encounter on your journey through the Geometry World!

    • Added a new choice in Cubey's Computer: "Update Logbook," which will allow you to update the logbook if new information is added between updates. (NOTE: This is only used upon transferring a save file from an older version of the game to a new one. For example, moving a V1.3 save file into V2.0).

    • The Logbook contains information from ALL Chapters, so if you don't unlock every entry in your Chapter One playthrough, that is completely normal. You will be able to complete The Logbook overtime upon Chapter releases.

    • (You guys can thank Hytale for this Gift Patch Update, as this feature was heavily inspired by the "Memory Collection" Mechanic used in the game.)

  • [New] A New NPC Shop has been added around all Chapter One Main Areas!

    • Visit the newest Shop NPC: Bristle! This NPC Shopkeeper will sell you fonts that you can use throughout your gameplay! More on that later!

  • [New] New "Retry Feature" has been added!

    • If you get a game over, you can spend 50 orbs to retry a battle from the beginning.

  • [New] Several new items have been added to the game.

    • Metal Shard - Consumable Item

    • Snowman Hat - General Armor, Head

  • [New] Added new fonts into the game!

    • All fonts added in 2.2 (That the Game engine would allow me to add) have been added into the game, and can be bought from various points in the game!

  • [New] New Achievements have been added

    • Added a new achievement for the new Platformer Level.

  • [New] New Songs can be unlocked in the Song Menu.

  • [New] The Basement has been updated.

  • [New] Added new secrets.

  • [New] [Creator Folder] The Creator Folder has been updated to 1.1.0

    • Added all new renders used in The Logbook.

    • (A FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT THESE IMAGES ARE NOT TO BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL USE, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF VIDEO THUMBNAILS).


Patch Notes & Bug Fixes

  • [Change] Updated the Credits Menu and scrolling credits that can be found at the end of Chapter One.

  • [Change] [QOL] You can now access the GRIMKITTY Blog page in the "Credits Menu" to easily access Changelogs for the game.

  • [Change] [QOL] Changed the "Skip Cutscene" speed from 25 to 50.

    • This change was done to escape a possible cutscene freeze easier.

  • [Change] [QOL] Blocked access to the abandoned snow castle after completing the area has been removed.

    • The barrier that prevents you from entering the Abandoned Snow Castle upon leaving it was removed. This was done as a quality of life change for "Side Progression" to be done easier.

  • [Change] [Battles] The Battle Tutorial has been updated.

    • Added some more information to the tutorial that is more up to date.

    • Included a "SP Meter" event in the Tutorial Battle to showcase the SP Meters use.

    • Cubey now doesn't gain experience from this battle so Cubey and Melty can level up equally.

  • [Change] [Battles] All enemies have been slightly buffed to adjust for balancing.

    • All enemies have been slightly buffed in their attacks.

    • The orb count for defeating enemies has been increased. (These balancing changes were done to balance out the new "Retry Feature" to make the game fair, but also slightly challenging.)

  • [Change] [Visual] Some In-Game Cutscenes were slightly adjusted.

    • "Meeting Melty" Tutorial Cutscene has been slightly tweaked.

    • "Meeting The King" Cutscene has been slightly tweaked.

  • [Change] [Visual] Cubey and Melty now have new animated emote sprites, and will react to certain moments during the game!

  • [Change] [Visual] The King was given new face sprites for dialogue.

  • [Change] [Visual] Some of Cubey's dialogue faces were changed to look more appealing.

  • [Change] [Map] Certain Maps have been updated.

    • "The Trail" Map has been updated.

    • "The Dashlands" Map has been updated.

    • "The King's Castle" Map has been updated.

    • "Dry Out Lands" Map has been updated.

  • [Change] [Map] Removed the song "Townie Loop" from "The Trail" Map. It now uses the old World Map Theme: "Pleasant Porridge."

  • [Change] [Map] Unlocked a new area in "The King's Castle" that was previously locked in Version 1.2.

  • [Change] [Story] Updated/adjusted some dialogue for NPC's in all areas.

  • [Change] [Story] Updated some story elements/dialogue to make the current state of the story clearer.

    • Save Files made in Version 1.3 should now be compatible with future upcoming updates thanks to this.

  • [Bugfix] Fixed the description for the "Save" option in the Menu.

  • [Bugfix] Fixed a visual bug in which the World Map clouds would stay on the screen if you entered The King's Castle again after obtaining the Royal Entry Pass.

  • [Bugfix] [Unknown Fix] Attempted to fix the black text visual bug that happens when opening a chest or obtaining an item.

  • [Bugfix] Save Files from Version 1.2 do not work in 1.3. However, Save files from 1.3 should be compatible with Chapter Two/Version 2.0.

  • [Change] Removed the 15 hour Cubey and Melty Makeout session cutscene due to copyright issues.
